War, Parents and Politics. . .

One of my Dewey picks for the must-read, meaty, literary novel this fall is David Grossman's To The End of the Land, translated by Jessica Cohen. It's an incredibly moving and powerful story about contemporary war told from a mother's point of view. It's set in Israel, but is a completely universal story of pain, fear and waste that reverberates through the generations. It will be available in September but the global media is already starting.
