Hot Canadian Books for Fall 2016

The 49th Shelf has put together the most anticipated books of the Fall and it's a good one. Marni Jackson, Linwood Barclay, Donna Morrissey are among the many authors I am looking forward to reading ASAP. :)

First Nations Language Readers

The University of Regina Press has just released 100 Days of Cree. This is part of an ambitious project called the First Nations Language Readers that URP started a few years ago. Their intent is to cover all 60 indigenous languages in North America.

Flavorwire on the State of Libraries

It's not a pretty picture, according to Flavorwire, North American libraries are seeing very slow growth in libraries are seeing very little increases (if any) to their budgets. The reality is the libraries need an increased budget to support growing populations.
