Favourite Reads of 2008 - Librarian's Picks Part Two. . .

Off to London, Ontario today with two more quirky lists from librarians with the London Public Library. Cheryl Dinsdale is the fiction selector and David McCord keeps the shelves stocked with non-fiction. Here's what they enjoyed reading this year.

Cheryl Dinsdale's list:

The Box of Delights by John Masefield
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
The House At Riverton by Kate Morton

The House on Fortune Street by Margot Livesey
Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson
The Sealed Letter by Emma Donoghue
The Tenth Gift by Jane Johnson
The Vows of Silence by Susan Hill
What Was Lost by Catherine O’Flynn
When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris

Cheryl Dinsdale is the fiction selection librarian at London Public Library. When not frantically reading ARCs, she spends her spare time attempting to play golf and dreaming of vacations in Hawaii.

David McCord's List:

1. Atonement by Ian McEwan
2. A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz
5. When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris
6. The Endless City by Ricky Burdett and Deyan Sudjic
9. The Post-American World by Fareed Zakaria
10. The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick

David McCord is a librarian who selects Adult Nonfiction for London Public Library and is interested in music, film and learning to play piano, particularly impossible pieces by late Romantic composers.
