Hans Fallada's Every Man Dies Alone was one of my favourite books last year. Here's an interview with Fallada's son Ulrich Ditzen who thinks Wolf Among Wolves, Fallada's epic novel about life during Weimar Germany, is actually his father's best book. It's just recently been brought back into print by Melville House with the first unabridged English translation. I hope to get to it soon.
